Really beautiful work and very informative. You mentioned its better not working into the drawing when the model has moved on, epically when your just starting out. I was wondering, is it still ok then, when your beginning to still invent the pose, beyond what you see in front of you? I look forward to seeing more of these. Again, thanks so much for posting.
Thank you all for the kind comments, I appreciate it.
Marcelo, Coming from you . . . I'm a happy man.
Owen, Thank you for passing them on, I appreciate it.
Justin, I heart your art my friend. I'm impressed by how hard you work and how far you've come in such a short time (and it was pretty darn impressive to start with).
Bill, I miss my neighbor! Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate you passing it along . . . thanks.
Sandra, Yes. It's all too important to adapt the pose and make a determined choice to alter what you are seeing and make it more than what it is. However, to break the pose and make it something completely different is more damaging than one would think, it creates bad habits and could get one in trouble farther down the line. Thank you for the question . . . it's a really good one.
Purchasing memory cards is such a big hassle... You have to search online for prices, filter through which ones are genuine, around a bunch of shops, compare prices, finally buy your memory, and then fervently pray that the price doesn't drop in the next month or so.
I've been done in by crazy price changes in the past... especially this one time when I bought a Micro SD card for my DS flashcard at what I thought was a steal, only to later see that it fell by five bucks in a week.
Thanks for answering it. I'll be going to costumed life drawing tomorrow so your advise will be put into action. Again, its hugely beneficial to learn from industry professionals, its greatly appreciated.
Virtual Memory sure is becoming cheaper and cheaper and cheaper. I'm curious as to when we will eventually hit the ratio of $0.01 to 1 Gigabyte.
I eagerly wait for the day when I will finally be able to afford a 20 terabyte drive, hahaha. But for now I guess I will be satisfied with having a 32 gig Micro SD in my R4i.
The pen I use quite regularly is the Pentel Stylo (disposable fountain pen). It was fashioned after the original white Pentel "Fountain Pentel" pen that is now out of commission once it was bought out. The second pen I use is the Pentel "Color Brush" pen, which is a proper brush pen that has refillable bladders. Marcelo Vignali was kind enough to introduce this pen to me, it's pretty fantastic and very nice adding a couple of thickness' of line to a piece.
GoodMorning, Thank-you so Im teaching myself to draw at a late stage in my lifeand want to learn gesture drawing so. I thankyou so for these videos they really help someone who is on there own and trying to learn. There isnt classes where I live and the ones that are are to high for my living budget. This means the world to me is there any videos or books to show you how to start ? Have a great day, Linda
Hey Mark. You're video was amazing. Clear and to the point. You remind me of my life drawing teacher from Community College. Although, some things you demonstrated in your video he said but I did not understand until now. Everyone learns differently, which is why I am grateful to anyone who takes their own time to make a video for us. I can't seem to find the Pentel Stylo. I found the brush. Is there anymore info on it or a link to an online store that has it maybe? Thank you.
Hello there, You have done a great job. I'll certainly digg it and personally recommend to my friends. I am confident they'll be benefited from this website.
Hey! Would you mind if I share your blog with my facebook group? There's a lot of folks that I think would really enjoy your content. Please let me know. Many thanks
