New Friday Class: IMAGINATIVE COSTUMED QUICK SKETCH @ 3Kicks
Hey Guys,
This is the last reminder for a new class I'll be instructing - "IMAGINATIVE COSTUMED QUICK SKETCH" @ 3Kicks Studio in Pasadena this Spring.
This (10-week session) begins:
Friday - 04/13/2012
7:30-10:30
There are limited spaces available and the cut-line will be in a few days:
It's a very intimate environment that allows a real one-on-one atmosphere. And for those asking about my next CHARACTER DESIGN class, I will be instructing a new one @ LAAFA sometime in the near future. Just ironing out the kinks.

Moebius Tribute Print for SD

Two birds with one stone as it were....I'm happy to say I've joined the "The Think Tank," Brett Bean and Justin Rodriguez's creative brain child and with it, a nod to the fantastic Morbius.
With the challenge, I was thinking about creating a few new prints to offer @ this year's Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego, I thought about many of the things that I was attracted to when I was a child. I feel in love with the film Willow (along with many others) but it was really a magazing that I found that had some development artwork in it that really made me attracted to the film even more. It just happened to be an artist named Moebius? Was that really a name, someone's REAL name?
Years later I found out who he was and what he was amazingly capable of.....a lot! So, here's a new print that's a thank you to the magical Moebius done in my own vision. It's just my way of saying........ thank you.
He really was spectacular.

New Uploaded Video: Experimenting with PrismaColor Pencils - 02
Hey Guys with the digital world dominating our lives, I have found it is pretty important to continue to use traditional media that really can be transferred into our digital work (for look and feel, or otherwise),
As we're all gearing up for the beginning of the New Year, I decided to post an all new video in the realm of using different mediums and experimentation when creating gesture specific drawings for the Animation and Entertainment Industry. It's a quick over the shoulder view of a few drawings done with a PrismaColor Pencil and Ebony Pencil, as one is a wonderful waxy smooth pencil and the other has such a great range of light to dark all with one pencil making it so much fun to draw with. Any thoughts as to the importance of continuing to work traditionally outside of our digital work and if it is beneficial to any artists out there?

NEW Classes Starting - 2012 Begins!
I'm happy to announce I will be teaching a new string of classes, beginning soon:
• 3Kicks: Fridays (7:30-10:30) - The class has just begun but you can get an adjusted rate.
and
• AAI/Animation Union: Tuesdays (7:30-10:30) - Starting Feb. 14th

The class will be directed toward how to approach Costumed Gesture Drawing for a direct application to the Animation and Entertainment Industry as well as be focusing on more of a storytelling method of thinking and how to pull the story out of the model in front of you - how to access the ideas that may be applied to your drawings.

Blue Canvas Magazine Release Launch

I was lucky enough to contribute to the launch of Blue Canvas' magazine release in downtown L.A. through one of the studios I instruct @, 3Kicks Studio in Pasadena. It was quite a thing to be interacting and drawing in front of a couple hundred people. I believe I did over 100 drawings that evening, all of which I gave away.

Recent FEMALE Figure Drawing - 2012

Here's a few recent 2-3 minute figure drawing sketches "on deck." I've been experimenting recently with pastels just for a nice change of pace as I have been inspired by one of the living masters, Karl Gnass.
