New Video: "MAC Sketchbook Sessions" - 01

I have just posted two new videos, one is an introduction to these "MAC Sketchbook Sessions" that I will be doing and the second video is of me flipping through my first sketchbook and talking about what was important about many of the sketches and what I am looking to accomplish along the way. This will be the 1st of many sketchbooks that I will go through and talk about my process or what I was thinking and looking for in many of the sketches.

Best,

MAC

Mac, can you tell me what you used to do the highlights on your drawings? Is it just paint?

Cheers :)

Andy,

The whites/hilites are actually PrismaColor White pencil. You could use any white pen as well as many of the studio artists do use that as it's more permanent and won't smear over time.

Deeandzee,

Thanks for the nice comment, much appreciated. This particular sketchbook is a Cachet "earthbound" toned paper sketchbook. It's 9"x12" and is created by the company Daler and Rowney. It does have a ISBN # and it's: 1-56152-416-6.

I hope that helps, it really is a great sketchbook because of the paper as well as the spiral binding for sketching in tight spots.

All of the color work was done by either Prismacolor pens or pencils by the same company. They're so quick and easy when you're on-th-go, they're really the best. Tria is just as good . . and even better, they're refillable.

Best,

MAC

Really cool. The colors really pop from that sketchbook. Looking forward to more. Any chance one of the sessions will show you sketching? I love to see people drawing, it's a fun process and everyone attacks it differently. Thanks for another educational/inspirational post.

Great Sketchbook!

How long does it take to do a sketchbook like that for you?

Hey Mark,

How do you keep your books looking so clean. I often get a lot of bleed in mine and can't get rid of it, especially when I do large black areas.

hi Mark
i love your sketches.
Towards the end of the video you show a page of head sketches and mention a black pen you have used. Is this the Pentel brush pen?
cheers
