Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

As for your Moby Dick question.... I did the brushy effect in Painter. There's great brush in their normal "Oil Paint" brushes called Smeary Round. Don't confuse this with the new Oil Paint Brush section in Painter 10. This is just in the basic brushes.

The cool thing about this brush is it lays down paint, and smears it in the same stroke. I've got the controls set so you get color when you apply pressure to the stylus, but it smears when you apply light pressure.

You can also set it so that no color comes out at all, which turns it into a blender brush. It's a much better blender than what Photoshop has...and faster.

Have I told you lately that you are a very sweet man. Happy Holidays.

I'm going to take a nap now. Wake me up January 2nd.

Mark, how goes the book! Hope you don't mind, but I'm linking to your site from my own newly minted blogger page. And then I'm tattooing your name across my chest in gigantic letters. ...Which is a perfectly normal thing to do. Obviously. Not weird at all...

Thanks guys,

Paul,
I think you have an illness called TooGoodToBeHumanitis. Thank you for responding, I will play with the settings in Painter. Such an incredible piece and feeling you created.

Al,
Love the Smigly toons man!

Daniel,
The book is DONE and is off to the printers TODAY!!! Woooohooo, thanks again!

Ken,
Thanks for the kind comment. This was a late night sketch that put me to bed once I found what I was looking for.

Best and thank you again,

MAC
